Privacy Policy
Your relationship is personal. Your data should be too.
This page explains, in plain language, exactly what EverUsTogether does and does not do with your information — both in the app and on this website.
Effective date: 2026-09-15 · Last reviewed against the app 2026-09-15
The short version
- There is no account and no login — you never create credentials or sign in to anything.
- Your moments stay on your phone. The moments, notes, dates, names and check-ins you record live in the app's private storage on your device. They are never uploaded to us, because we operate no server for them.
- There is no partner sync or pairing. Your partner never installs anything, sees anything, or is contacted by the app in any way.
- The app sends anonymous usage statistics — which screens are opened, and the fact that certain steps happened — so we can tell whether the app is actually helping. It never sends what you recorded, and you can switch it off in Settings.
- The app is free and, after you have used it for a while, shows one small, gentle ad at the bottom of the Moments and Insights screens, through Google AdMob. Nothing you record is ever used for ads. There is no data sale, and no location or contacts access.
- Everything the app does works offline. It never needs a connection to record a moment, show your history, or display your insights.
What EverUsTogether stores, and where
When you use the app, it stores the following directly on your Android device, using standard secure app storage:
- Your first name and your partner's first name, and an optional relationship or wedding date, entered during setup.
- The moments you record — the type of moment, the date and time, an optional short note, and whether you marked it especially meaningful.
- Your "Us" check-ins — the positive feelings you select and an optional note.
- Your preferences — which categories of moments matter to you, your custom moment types, and your reminder settings, if you turn reminders on.
None of this is transmitted anywhere by the app. It is not uploaded to EverUsTogether, not sent to rafaelrglima.com, and not shared with any third party. The anonymous usage statistics described in the next section are a separate, deliberately tiny stream that never carries any of it.
Anonymous usage statistics
Since version 1.0.5 the app reports a small, fixed set of anonymous usage events through Google Analytics for Firebase, so we can see whether people get through setup and whether the app is used more than once. Apart from the one small ad described below, this is the only thing the app sends anywhere.
What is sent:
- Screen views — the name of the screen you opened, from a fixed list built into the app (for example
today, moments,us,insights, settings). Nothing on the screen is sent, only its name. - Four milestone events, each of which is just a name with no details attached:
onboarding_complete,moment_created,checkin_completed,suggestion_done. - One preference flag — whether daily reminders are switched on or off (
reminder_enabled). The reminder's time and chosen days are never reported. - The standard technical information Google Analytics attaches to any app: a randomly generated app-instance identifier, your device model, operating-system version, app version, and coarse country- or region-level location derived from the network you are connected to — never GPS, never a precise location. That identifier is not your name or your email, and it is reset if you clear the app's data or reinstall.
- If you installed the app from Google Play after clicking one of our ads, Firebase also records which campaign the install came from — so we can tell which ads actually reach people who stay. That is a fact about the ad, not about you.
Your usage statistics are never used to target advertising at you. The app's one small ad is described in the next section.
What is never sent: the content of any moment or note, which moment type you chose, your name or your partner's name, your relationship date, the feelings you selected in a check-in, your precise location, your contacts, or any free text you typed anywhere in the app. The app is built so that no part of the code can attach relationship content to an event — every event name is a fixed constant and no caller can add parameters to it.
How to turn it off: open Settings ▸ Data & privacy in the app and switch off Share anonymous usage statistics. Reporting stops immediately and stays off. The setting is on by default; turning it off changes nothing else about how the app works.
Google processes this data on our behalf as described in Firebase's privacy documentation and Google's Privacy Policy. We see only aggregate counts — never a single person's activity.
The one small, gentle ad
EverUsTogether is free. To help pay for it, after you have used the app for a while it shows a single small banner ad at the bottom of the Moments and Insights screens. It never appears on Today, while you record a moment, or in Us check-ins. The ad is served by Google AdMob.
- What the ad sees: nothing you recorded. The app never passes your moments, notes, names, feelings or dates to the ad service, and never uses them to choose an ad. The ad service does not receive anything from your relationship.
- What Google receives to show an ad: the information any app sends to Google's ad service — such as your device's IP address, device and operating-system details, the app's name and version, and an ad request. On Android this can include the Android advertising ID, a resettable identifier that you can reset or delete in your Android settings (Settings ▸ Privacy ▸ Ads). Google may use this to deliver, limit and measure ads and to prevent fraud, as described in Google's advertising privacy documentation.
- Your choice: where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), the app shows a consent form from Google before any ad is requested, and no ad is requested until you have made your choice. You can review or change it later in Settings ▸ Data & privacy ▸ Privacy choices, which appears wherever the form applies.
- iOS: an iOS version is coming to the App Store. It will behave the same way, but it never asks to track you across other apps or websites and shows no tracking-permission prompt, so its ads are not personalised.
- What we keep out of ads: we ask Google to avoid sensitive ad categories (such as dating, religion, politics and gambling) and the app is not directed at children.
The ad is separate from the anonymous usage statistics above: we do not send any ad-related event of our own, and the statistics are never used to target ads. Google's handling of ad data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Android backup — an honest nuance
Android offers a system-level feature called auto-backup, which some users have enabled on their phone to protect app data generally (it is an Android setting, not something EverUsTogether controls). If you have Android's backup turned on, the operating system may copy EverUsTogether's app data — the same on-device data described above — to your own personal Google account's backup storage, the same way it would for many other apps on your phone.
This means: that backup copy lives under your Google account, governed by Google's own backup and encryption practices — it is not sent to EverUsTogether or to rafaelrglima.com, and we have no access to it. We want to be precise here rather than making a blanket claim: we will never say your data "never leaves your device" without this caveat, because for users with Android backup enabled, a copy may leave the device to reach a place only you control.
You can review or turn off this behavior at any time in your Android system settings under Backup.
What EverUsTogether does not do
- No account creation, no login, no password, no email or phone number collection inside the app.
- No server of ours holding your moments — there is nothing to breach, sell to, or subpoena, because your relationship data is never in our possession.
- No analytics event that carries relationship content — what you recorded, which moment type, or any text you wrote — off your device.
- No use of what you record for advertising. The app's one small ad (see above) never receives or uses your moments, and no ad appears on Today, while recording, or in Us.
- No sale of personal data, and no sharing of anything you record.
- No access to your location or your contacts.
- No online AI service. Suggestions in the app come from curated content bundled with the app itself, not a remote model that would need to see your data.
- No partner monitoring. EverUsTogether cannot and does not report anything about you to anyone else, partner included.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, they are scheduled locally on your device by Android. Reminder text is written to stay general (for example, "A small moment of care can change someone's day") and never reveals specific relationship details on your lock screen.
Children's privacy
EverUsTogether is intended for adults in an established relationship and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and the app collects no personal information from anyone in the first place.
Future changes: export and backup
We may later add optional, user-initiated features such as encrypted export/import or backup to a cloud service you choose (like Google Drive). Any such feature will be strictly opt-in, clearly explained at the time, and will not change the fact that EverUsTogether operates no server for your moments.
This website (everustogether.com)
This marketing website is a separate, ordinary static website — it is not the app, and visiting it does not give it access to anything you have recorded in EverUsTogether.
The website uses Google Analytics (a separate measurement stream from the app's) to see which pages are visited and whether people tap through to Google Play — only after you accept analytics cookies in the banner. Nothing is measured before that choice: the site loads with Google Consent Mode v2 defaults set to denied, and only analytics_storage is ever granted. If you accept, Google's own _ga and _ga_<id> cookies are set, for up to two years. If you reject, no analytics cookies are set and no measurement happens.
Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage under eut-consent; it never leaves your browser. Use Cookie settings in the footer to change it at any time, and clearing your browser's site data resets it to denied. No advertising cookies run on this website (the website itself shows no ads), and nothing here is shared for advertising. The web server may keep standard access logs (IP address, time, requested page) for security; they are not used for profiling and are deleted routinely.
Your control over your data
Because everything you record lives in the app's storage on your device, you are always in control:
- You can edit or delete any moment, check-in, or note at any time from within the app.
- You can switch off anonymous usage statistics in Settings ▸ Data & privacy at any time.
- Uninstalling the app removes its on-device data (subject to any Android backup copy you've separately enabled, as explained above).
- There is no account to delete, because none was ever created.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and, for any meaningful change, note it clearly on this page. We will never loosen these commitments retroactively without telling you.
